Overnight Hike

With most of our older scouts away at the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden,  four of our younger scouts set out on an ambitious overnight hike.  Starting at  Crone Wood car park on Wednesday afternoon in bright sunshine, the objective was to follow the Wicklow Way  to reach Lough Dan Scout Centre - a distance of approximately 20km.

Unfortunately, the sunshine didn't last and the weather turned drizzly and then wet later in the day.  Undeterred by the failing weather, we arrived at Lough Dan damp, but in good spirits, at about 9pm.

Day 2 and we set off for Glenmacnass Waterfall and Mullaghcleevaun - the second highest peak in Leinster. Starting anticlockwise around Carrigshouk, our route took us up over the East Top for lunch and then on to the summit of Mullaghcleevaun.
